Talking with the New York Times about his new Apple TV+ series Blackbird, Egerton hinted that he'd be interested. And he has even (not surprising considering his rising star status and success in other cine-areas) had a meeting with Kevin Feige and the Marvel team, though it's not confirmed what casting ideas might have been discussed.

"I don’t think it would be wrong to say that," he says. “I’d be excited but I’d be apprehensive as well, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it.”

Egerton, of course, would be able to run the idea, should he so choose, by Jackman himself, since the pair worked together in Eddie The Eagle.
